Never overload any circuits, always use surge protection for your audio, video, and computer connections. Do not use extension cords for long distances, this may cause slip & trip hazards as well as potential fire hazards. Make sure you have GFCI installed near sinks, counter tops, outside receptacles, wherever there is a water source or a potential for moisture.

In January of 2014 all new circuits must be protected by ARC-FAULT devices, except where GFCI apply. Remember if you have any Aluminum wiring please have it properly service by an Licensed Electrical Contractor and inspected by your local Code Official.
